In a box of pictures
I’ve never seen before
No I don’t remember
Those days at all
Saw my father when he
was the same age as I was
He looked just like me
even before I was born
In a box of pictures
Outside the old house
No I don’t remember
That day at all
Saw my mother with me
smiling in the snow
I look just like me
Even before I was born
No I don’t remember
Those days at all
Shenandoah
Laying in the Shenandoah f#m a
With my fingers inside you bm d
Are you hiding from the pleasure f#m a
Or is it the pain that circles inside you bm d c#7
Honestly bm
I don’t think I can Bmb5
Be the chief of your village c#
But if you want to roll over me bm Bmb5
I will let you taste me again c#
Laying in the Shenandoah
by the Appalachian apple tree
are you screaming from the pleasure
or is it the pain that circles inside you
Honestly
I don’t think I can
Be the chief of your village
But if you want to roll over me
I will let you taste me again
Lonely is the Way
I am a lonesome traveler
I have no place to stay
For when the light shines on the land
Then I must be on my way
I need to leave
I need to leave this place
For now the night is dying
I must be on my way
I fear the only truth is my fate
Love is the only
Lonely is the way
I am a lonesome traveler
I have no place to stay
For when the light shines on the land
Then I must be on my way
I need to leave
I need to leave this place
For now the night is dying
I must be on my way
I fear the only truth is my fate
Love is the only
Lonely is the way
Sachin’s Blues #11
You gotta die to be born
You gotta want to be loved
Aint nothing but a stranger in this world
You walk beside madame George
And a ballerina in the park
Aint nothing but a stranger in this world
Aint nothing but a stranger in this world
You gotta lose to be lost
Then you gotta find where you are
Aint nothing but a stranger in this world
It begins a sweet thing
Afterwards young lovers sing
Aint nothing but a stranger in this world
Aint nothing but a stranger in this world
(for Van Morrison)
For Zion
Darkness has filled the space
I hope the sun is on her way
I don’t mind a little rain
I hope the sun is on her way
The canyon walls are turning grey
I hope the sun is on her way
I don’t mind a little pain
I hope the sun is on her way
The virgin screams until it breaks
I hope the sun is on her way
On angels wings I land my fate
I hope the sun is on her way
Losing Time
I’m losing time babe
And I’m not prepared
Don’t know where I’m going babe
And I don’t care
Your memory
Is torturing me
I don’t want to be left in the tomb beside you
I’m losing my mind babe
They said beware
Don’t ask how I’m doing babe
If you don’t care
Your memory
Is torturing me
I don’t want to be left in the tomb beside you
I’m losing time babe
King of hearts runs up to top of the deck
Slides to the captain who turns his head
“can you help me sir to find my friends,
They’ve been captured and held in the enemies hand”
Jack of hearts stares up with his glossy eye
And winks at the thief who’s pleasantly surprised
Says, “with here my wit and with there your stealth
Together we’ll take all of their wealth”
Queen of hearts looks up through her looking glass
And stares at the sailor a little to the left
Pulls back her robe to show her chest
Says, “if you help me now I’ll repay you in the end”
And the priest looks down at his three tens
And mumbles a prayer to cover up his sin
He lay down his cross and the keys to his benz
And with the devil in his voice he says, “I’m in”
And the pirate turns up his conquering ace
And says to the kingdom, “you’re such a disgrace,
My one is stronger than all you combined”
Then he takes all their gold and leaves them drowning behind
The Sigh
Like a sigh which is hummed
After a poem has been read
Like lines of gravestones
That fill the teeth of the dead
Won’t you lay by our side
On the ocean floor
Lay your worried sword
Into her arms
When the whistle sounds
For tiny voices to hear
Statues with no eyes
Will line the fields
Then the dreamer wakes
To the sigh in the wind
The morning begins
Where the darkness ends
